The leadership team of C.H.E.S.S. has previewed and decided to move our technology to the current century and provide additional features to our area homeschoolers with a new web page. Our new page is www.homeschool-life.com/mo/chess. The leadership team is very excited about the features that we can take advantage of and the additional communication that can be done within the web site. When you navigate to the new web page, you can request membership. We are asking for $15 this year for C.H.E.S.S. to cover the website cost and C.H.E.S.S. sponsored events (i.e. paper goods, facility donation/rental, etc.). You can pay by PayPal on the site or send a check to C.H.E.S.S. (instructions available on the web site and when your request membership).
Starting in October, all newsletters will be coming from the new web site and will only be sent to members. Until then, we will be sending out the newsletters to the existing list. You can view the public information about C.H.E.S.S. without being a member. Being a member has some great advantages:

Current home school events and community events for your family.
Calendar
Calendar of Events to display on the public page or to members only. Filtering of the calendar to see events.
Online Directory
Names of Family Members, Online Pictures, Names and Ages of Children, and Contact Information. You control what information others see.

An online way to connect with others in the group to ask questions, find people with similar interests and get advice.
Classified Ads
You post your own ad!
Member Flexibility
You choose how much e-mail you want from different sections of website.

CHESS Purpose
CHESS seeks to provide an easily accessible network of communication and resources which will support, encourage, and equip parents, enhance the experience of homeschooling for children and families, and educate those who are interested in homeschooling. We cooperate with and encourage all home educators in the greater Rolla area in matters of common interest, specifically focusing on families who have chosen to educate their children from a Christian perspective.
CHESS Vision . . .
CHESS is a homeschool support group for families who desire to train up their children in the Lord's ways through homeschooling. We desire to provide a visual example of unity within the Body of Christ as we work together, helping one another and making use of the various gifts, talents, expertise, and experience of homeschooling families. We are already joined together through our common faith and our commitment to home education, so why not work together? When we function as the community of believers God intended us to be, the possibilities are endless!

Newsletter
One of our basic services is an e-mail service. Once you subscribe, you will receive regular announcements not only from the CHESS committee but from individual members, telling you about opportunities you can participate in. If you are interested in receiving the e-mails, please fill out the form at the bottom of this page.
If you wish to send us any announcements, please send them to chess09@live.com.
Announcements will be passed along to CHESS members in a timely manner. Remember that our webmaster is a volunteer and a homeschooling mom! Do your best to get announcements to her far in advance.
